Currently Reading // Maud; BEDIA DAY 14

Hey yo,

This is my currently reading day! So that is what I'll do :-)

The thing with currently reading posts is that I'm not too sure what to write apart from the obvious. And that is like 2 sentences long. So they always turn into life updates aswell. But I don't have anything to update you on. So this post is going to be super short!

I am around 50 pages into It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover. I haven't read it for a few days but I know that it's written really well and I'm thoroughly enjoying it. Yay!

Actually, I am going to a dance week long workshop this week so that should be fun. I'm not sure if I'll get much time to write though. So if I don't, forgive meπŸ™πŸ»
Happy Reading (and in my case, dancing),
Maud Xxx

Hey guys!
So this is my currently reading that was meant to be posted yesterday. I did write it but this morning it changed so...

I was previously reading ACOMAF but this morning I decided to put it down. I am in a really big slump and it was really daunting. It actually made me feel really stressed and upset so I decided that I should put it down to lift a weight from my shoulders because you shouldn't feel obliged to read anything, reading s a fun thing that should be enjoyed!

I am now reading...We Were Liars by E. Lockhart. This book is only short and apparently it is absolutely outstanding so yeah! I am gonna read tonight :)

Happy Reading,
Maud X

Currently Reading// Maud; 15.05.16

Hey guys!
Sorry this is up so late but all of today I have been reorganising by bedroom and now have a double bed!
Anyway, I am reading ACOMAF and I'm around 100ish pages in. I'm not loving it, I'm not going to lie but hopefully it will get better. I was thinking of maybe also reading Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief as I found it in Oxfam books yesterday and am so pumped to start it. I'm not totally sure yet though.

I am also reading Frankenstein with my class in English which I'm not really enjoying too much at the moment and I actually need to read about 50 pages of it for tomorrow but I'm so tired that it'll be a close call to whether it gets done.

This has been a short post but...
Happy Reading,

Happy Blogging Birthday to Us,
Happy Blogging Birthday to Us,
Happy Blogging Birthday to Maud and Emile,
Happy Blogging Birthday to Us.

Hello everyone! I am back, and coincidentally today is the one year anniversary of starting this blog.  Hooray! I am happy to be writing posts again now that my life has calmed down a bit, so be on the look out for more of me on this blog.

I am currently reading A Court of Mist and Fury by none other than Sarah J. Maas. I feel slightly ashamed actually because I've been reading it for a week and I'm not even a quarter of the way through. The thing is I discovered the TV show Reign on Netflix and I've been obsessed. But I will spend a good couple of hours reading tonight (hopefully) so maybe I'll make some progress. I think it will be good. I used to be very much a Tamlin/ Feyre shipper but since starting the read ACOMAF I have converted. Feysand all the way.

On the topic of books by Sarah J. Maas the Empire of Storms cover was released a couple of days ago, and from what I've seen the reactions are very mixed. I, personally, am not a big fan. I don't think the cover shows the character development Celaena has been through in the past four books at all. She looks exactly the same as she did in the first book. For those of you who haven't seen the cover yet, here it is:

What happened to the wispy hair? She's meant to look like a fighting queen, but I see the assassin we met in the first book. The only reference to anything that has happened so far is the fire. I just want to say that I know authors don't get much of a say in what the covers of their books look like, so not hate of Sarah J. Maas. I don't think the publisher did a very good job.

The End,

Currently Reading; Maud//08.05.16

Hey guys,
It's Maud here with a long awaited Currently Reading post :/
Recently I've been really busy with exams and things along those lines so I have had limited time to read (which was especially horrible because Throne of Glass was so gripping and I had to keep putting it down when I really wanted to carry on).

Anyway, last night I finally finished Throne of Glass. It was spectacular and I'm super desperate to read Crown of Midnight but over the past few weeks I have accumulated lots of books so I think I need a break from buying books.

I am currently reading A COURT OF MIST AND FURY BY SARAH J. MAAS!
It's been so long awaited and I'm so excited to read it. I'm on about page 15/624 so I have a long way but hope I will be getting through it quickly as exams will hopefully die down in the next few weeks.

May, June and July are pretty great months for me. This month I am finding out which GCSE options I got and which subjects I will be studying next year. For my choices I picked Drama, Art, History and Spanish (First reserve: Geography and Second Reserve: BTEC Health and Social). So hopefully I get the ones I wanted although I won't be hugely fussed if I don't.
June is my birthday month and I am also going to the London Pride Parade with my two bestfriends :)
July is the last month of term and I am going to a concert, a school end of year trip, a contemporary performance with my company and we may be attending a Book Convention!
Also, I can't wait for summer because there is so much reading time.

QOTD: What is the most exciting thing happening in the next few months for you guys?

Happy Reading,

Currently Reading;Maud //Easter Sunday

Hola everyone!
Today is my currently reading :) It isn't very interesting as it's been the same for a while as I've been really unmotivated, busy and I am also reading Frankenstein for school so that's kind of why. (I've also been binge watching American Horror Story and Jane the Virgin :/).
I'm about 150 pages into Hollow City by Ransom Riggs. Its getting really interesting :)

I am also reading Frankenstien by Mary Shelley for school. It's not too bad but I think it would be more enjoyable if I was reading it out of will and didn't have to annotate it.

Have a very Merry Easter and holiday! My school breaks up next Friday.
Happy Reading (and easter!)

Heya!
This is going to be my currently reading for Sunday. I won't be able to post on Sunday because I have a long, all-day dance show.
I will be reading the same then as I am now so I taught I'd just post today instead.

I am currently about to start Hollow City (Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children #2) I'm so extremely excited to start it!!! I'm probably going to start it tonight :)
I have not completely abandoned City of Bones, I've decided to listen to it on audiobook. I feel like this will be less stressful and a more enjoyable way of experiencing it.

If you want often updates about how I'm enjoying p my currently readings, you can go and follow my goodreads account. Link in the side bar>>>>

QOTD: What is the most recent audiobook you've listened to?!?!
Happy Reading!

Hey guys,
I'm still reading City of Bones...urgh...
It's not that I'm not enjoying it, it just isn't grabbing me and pulling me in.
 I'm about 159 pages through.
I am dying to read HOLLOW CITY!
I really don't know what else to say!

Happy Reading!

Currently Reading; PEDIM Day 9 // Emile

Good Morning,

Actually, if you look outside where I live all you can see are clouds and rain and grey skies. Oh well.

Right now I am reading Amy and Roger's Epic Detour by Morgan Matson. I am actually enjoying it much more than I thought I would given how cheesy the cover is.

See the cheese. It is a good book and I would recommend it. It would be a really good read for the summer. There is a lot more to the book than you first realise when reading it, and it's not so happy go lucky as it appears. I also own Since You've Been Gone by Morgan Matson which apparently is a much more cheerful read if you are looking for something light hearted. I'm saving it for Summer.

I was trying to play my guitar the other day and I realised that my fingers were just too small. Which is a shame because I own a really nice classic guitar and I would love to learn to play it. So for my next birthday I am going to ask for a ukulele.

I can't forget to mention that Lady Midnight was released yesterday! I am going to read it as soon as I have finished this. I am very excited for it because I think that Emma sounds like a great main character. Unfortunately though I'm saving up my pocket money at the moment so I'm going to have to buy it on Kindle. But I still get to read it!

The End,

Ms Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children Review (non-spoiler) and Currently Reading//Maud

Hello everyone,
I am so terribly sorry that I have not been writing recently. I have had a horrible past few weeks, I have just been really down and stressed but now I'm getting better so I though I would update you. this post is gong to be a Ms Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children review and a Currently Reading.

Starting with the currently reading, I am about 130 pages into City of Bones. I haven't read in so long and I need to step up my game (I'm also sort of reading Frankenstein for school...).
I'm enjoying it but not loving it at the moment. I hope it gets better ;/
I am also DYING TO READ HOLLOW CITY so I am desperate to finish CofB.

Anyway, onto the review...
I absolutely LOVE MPHFPC! I just loved how the present tied in with the past.
Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children is about a boy called Jacob who is from America. Ever since he was little, his grandfather had told him stories of great adventures defeating monsters and of these peculiar children that live on an island in Wales that he was friend with. Growing up, Jacob didn't at all believe at word of his grandfather and was told that his old age was getting to him. But one day, Jacob gets a phone call from his grandfather at work and everything starts getting very strange.
This is the blurb:
A mysterious island. An abandoned orphanage. A strange collection of peculiar photographs. it all waits to be discovered in Ms Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, an unforgettable novel that mixes fiction with photography in a thrilling reading experience. As our story opens, a horrific family tragedy sets sixteen-year-old Jacob journeying to a remote island off the coast of Wales, where he discovers the crumbling ruins of Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children. As Jacob explores it's decaying bedroom and hallways, it becomes clear that Miss Peregrine's children were more than just peculiar. They may have been dangerous. They may have been quarantined on a deserted island for a good reason. And somehow----impossible though it seems----they may still be alive.
I really recommend this book to anyone who loves historical fiction with a twist! Go read it! NOW!

I promise I will start uploading regularly again,
Lots of Love,
Maud xxx

It's so nice to write a currently reading post where I'm not reading The Power of One.

Hello everyone!

Are you enjoying the half term? I know I am. More time to read.

I finished our book of the month (find out more here) Salt to the Sea a couple of days ago and I spent about an hour afterwards sobbing into my pillow. The book is amazing so make sure that you read it in time for our discussion that goes up on the 29th February!

I am now reading Confess by Colleen Hoover. I haven't read very much of it yet but it seems like it will be good. It feels like a novelty to read different books.

I am going to Harry Potter Studios with my best friend and one of her friends on Friday which I am really excited for. I've already been twice but I don't think I could ever get bored of it. I won't do a post on it this time as Maud and I have both already posted one. Read it here.

I'm planning to binge write blog posts tonight so that I don't have to stress so much about it during term time. If you guys have any requests let me know in the comments or on Twitter or Instagram! These blog posts are for you so I would like to write things that you enjoy.

See you on Saturday,

Hey guys,
OMG ALL THE BRIGHT PLACES!
I finished it on Thursday after 4hrs of reading and it is phenomenal. Near the end, I was physically unable to put it down. I am so happy that it was recommended to me and that I picked it up :)

Anyway, at the moment I am reading Salt to the Sea by Ruta Sepetys. I am about 150 pages through and the writing is just stunning. The way the story is told is so gripping and I am extremely excited to read more of it.  My favourite character so far is Emilia!

Happy Reading!

Hey guys,
I've had a really busy and horrible week so I'd like to apologise for lack of upload. It's nearly February! Oh my word...it's gone so fast. I'm still thinking it's October.

I am still reading Aristotle and Dante discover the Secrets of the Universe. I'm about halfway through. I know I'm slow but I'm also reading lots of manga and have lots of tests coming up that need revising for. I promise that I will have finished by the next currently reading. I was thinking of reading All the Bright Places next. Or How to Kill A Mockingbird?!
What do you guys think?

Currently Reading Fail 2.12.15 // Emile

Hallo meine Freunden!

(Just testing how rusty my German is).

Here I am today with an another account of how much I am failing at reading at the moment. I had to put Carry On down because I wasn't getting anywhere and decided to pick up Days of Blood and Starlight because it's a sequel which should make it easier to get into. I also really enjoyed the first book and am looking forward to seeing where this goes. I want so much to get rid of this slump before Christmas because the holidays are the perfect time for reading! (Can I just say for a moment: OH MY GOLLY GOSH IT'S DECEMBER ALREADY. Seriously what happened to the other eleven months?)

I am excited for a chance to write some festive themed posts as this is the first Christmas of the An Infinite Bookshelf family. It is a momentous occasion, so look out for some of them coming soon.

I thought it would be nice to incorporate a little "life update" into currently reading posts. I thought you guys might like to hear about my life. Maybe? Either way it will be a new part of currently reading posts. I am really stressed at the moment because of end of term exams at school. Tomorrow night I am going with my friends on a school trip to see the musical Jesus Christ Superstar which I'm really looking forward to apart from the fact that I won't get home until around 11 pm and then I have a maths test and a piano exam the next day! I will be really happy to get the piano over with though. Any of you who do music exams will know how much you end up hating your pieces after playing them over and over again for months.

Guten Nacht alle,
Emile x

Currently Reading 25.11.15 // Emile

So here is another currently reading fail.

I have hardly read anything since last week, this slump is serious. I am really hoping that this will be gone by Christmas because holidays are prime reading time. It's so frustrating wanting to read but not wanting to at the same time. *SIGHS*

Either way, right now I am currently reading Carry On by Rainbow Rowell, which was just released this October. It's not that it isn't good it's that I'm really stressed preparing for my piano exam and end of term tests at school, therefore I'm busy studying and practising leaving me little time to read. By the time I get to bed I just want to go to sleep.

The colours on the cover are lovely. If you would like to see some lovely pictures of books and laugh at my bookish shenanigans check out my instagram account:

https://www.instagram.com/mywordyobsession/

There isn't really much else to say, so I shall end this post here.
Goodnight,
Emile x

Hey guys!

This is going to be a really quick post just mentioning my currently reading!
I am reading The Book Thief by Markus Zusak at the moment.
I'm about 80 pages in and it's AMAZING.
Read Em's review to find out more :)
P.S. I am also, like Emile, in a bit of a reading slump because of how long
it took to finish HP.

QOTD: How are you guys doing?
