This is Life is a series we are introducing about life issues, a place for discussion and for people to find support in other's situations and just to talk about things that happen in real life. We hope that it helps you out, even if you just like to read it for entertainment. The idea is that most (if not all) the books we read are fiction, and these are things that happen in real life.

How I Read Book Tag 2015 ~ Emile
Bonjour!
This is a pre-written post because I am on holiday right now! Yay! Who doesn't like going on holiday. Anyway, I saw this tag going around YouTube and I really liked the idea of it, which got me thinking "there's no reason why this can't be a blog post". So here we are.
When do I read?
The majority of my reading is done at night, lying in bed. It is a time of day when I can guarantee that I will have time to read, and just relax and enjoy the book. My bed is right next to my bookshelf (I mean I literally use the bottom shelf as a bedside table). Especially in winter I like pulling the covers up to my chin and just diving into the world of a good book.
Where do I read?
The other places I like to read are in the living room armchair by the window facing out onto the garden, the rumpus-room sofa (the rumpus room is like a second living room/playroom) and on my beanbag in the corner of my bedroom.
How long does it take me to read a book?
I am a moderate speed reader, so I can read just under 70 page in an hour. Obviously it depends on the book and the size of the font etc. During term time I usually read 2-3 books a week. During the holidays sometimes I can read a book per day. If a book is really good, like Harry Potter, I can read it very quickly even in term time. I read Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix in 2 days during the school term.
What is my favourite genre?
I like modern/contemporary classic, young adult and fantasy genres the most. I realise that that is rather an eclectic mix, but so be it. Other genres I read the most are contemporary and dystopian.
How do I treat my books?
Personally I don't deface my books. I don't write in them, or dog-ear the pages. I tag my favourite parts with post it notes so that I can read them again. There are parts of Clockwork Princess I have read tens or times, and I cry every time. I'm one of those people who like to keep their books perfect, however I do like the look and feel of a well-thumbed, well-loved book.
What is my favourite reading format?
I prefer reading floppy paperbacks. What I mean by that is books that stay open when you just hold the spine. I do own a Kindle paperwhite, which I do love dearly, but I only read on that when I don't own the physical copy, I can't find it in the school library, and I can't borrow it off of a friend. I also tend to read long series on Kindle as supposed to buying them because a 6 book series can cost up to over £50, which I don't want to pay.

An Update 27/6/15
Bonjour!
Maud and I apologise for our absence in the past few weeks, now that exams are largely over we will be back on track and posting regularly. We really want to put all we can into the content on this blog so we didn't want to post anything half-hearted. Besides, the summer holidays are coming soon and we'll be posting loads then.

June TBR + Life Update - Emile 9/6/15

*Quick Update*
Our apologies about there not being many posts recently from both Maud and I, it's because it is exam season we have piano and dance exams as well as all the end-of-year tests from school. I'm sure you can understand that free time is hard to come by, and we don't want to just half-heartedly write something, we want this blog to contain quality material. Thank you for your support and understanding.
Onto the TBR! I realise that it is already the 9th June, but I was thought that there wasn't any reason why we didn't write monthly TBR's and Wrap Up's so I decided to start now.
June is a very busy month for me, so if I get through 3 books, I'll be proud. Those books are:
1. Throne of Glass ~ Sarah J. Maas
I now own 3 copies of this book (Kindle edition, British paperback and American paperback) and I still haven't gotten around to it. My friend recently brought me back a signed copy from New York with the beautiful American cover so I feel even more obliged to read it. Besides, I haven't heard a bad word said about this author. Here is the amazing cover:
2. The Catcher in the Rye ~ J.D Salinger
I brought this months ago and still haven't gotten around to it. It's about time I did.
3. Red Queen ~ Victoria Aveyard
Again, I brought this months ago and still haven't read it. But I will... sometime.
These choices are pretty flexible so if you find a currently reading post where I am reading something else, don't be shocked because I generally choose the genre of a book I'd like to read depending on my mood.

Currently Reading (Maud) - 17/5/15
Hi guys!
Today I'm going to be doing a 'currently reading' post! Emile and I have decided to do these posts weekly.
Basically, we are going to update you guys on what we are currently reading and how we are finding the book(s) so far! If we are reading the same thing as we were the week before, we will just do an update of whether we still have the same view as the week before. We will also be writing about the book we were reading the week before to say if we enjoyed it (but not in detail as that's what a review is for!).

I am only around 50 pages into ATBP but so far it is INCREDIBLE! I love it so much!
I'm so excited to go to bed and read it...
There is no point even writing about the amazingness of Harry Potter! All of you will learn about how much I fangirl over Ron Weasley...
Anyway, I'm loving Harry Potter so far as well...so yeah!
It's 11 o'clock at night so I'll leave it there for today!
