Queen of Shadows by Sarah J. Maas review *ALL SPOILERS ARE HIDDEN* ~ Emile

Ah, back to school. How wonderful -_-

Bonjour!

As you are probably aware, school has started again. Isn't everyone excited? I'm not. Anyway, the topic of this post is the newly released YA fantasy novel Queen of Shadows, the fourth instalment in the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas.

I am a HUGE fan of this series, as is my best friend. So naturally we had to go out on the release date, September 1st, to buy it. And I have to say I wasn't disappointed.

I can't really tell you much if you haven't read the first three books in the series, so all I am going to say is that it is amazing. The main character is a bad-ass seventeen year-old assassin called Celaena Sardothien who loves pretty dresses and luxury and won't take any rubbish from anybody. It's absolutely brilliant. If you haven't yet, just go and read it.

5/5 stars. It was just awesome.

No on to the part with spoilers. OPEN AT YOUR OWN RISK. IF YOU HAVEN'T READ THE THRONE OF GLASS SERIES THEN DON'T OPEN THIS.

I warned you.

First of all, I ship Rowan and Aelin so so so so much. Celorian has gone out the window for me. Also, Dorian's chapters! I was so worried there wouldn't be any of him left but he was still there. I ship him with Manon. Just saying.

I love how we saw the good side of Manon, and that not all of the witches are just murderers. I have to say though Elide was rather an annoying character. She just cowered and complained most of the time.

The slightly sexy Rowan and Aelin scenes I have to say I did enjoy. They are the perfect couple, I love reading them from Rowan's point of view because Aelin never realises what he's actually thinking because of the barriers he sets up.

I AM OVERJOYED THAT ARROBYN HAMEL IS DEAD. He entirely deserved it. I like that it was Lysandra that killed him as well, and I like the Lysandra/Aelin friendship. I think that was a very insightful part of the story.

I found Chaol incredibly shallow in this book. He thinks Aelin has been frolicking around the whole time! How rude! I never shipped Chaol and Celaena but now I especially don't like him. Hopefully with Dorian back he'll get a bit nicer.

Aedion was a good character. That's about all I have to say about him really. He's a nice character. Yay.

I'll stop here, for fear of annoying anyone. In summary, 5 BILLION STARS OH MY GOODNESS THE EPICNESS WAS JUST SO EPIC.

Au revoir,
Emile x
